An Update
It's been a while since my last post, and by a while I mean a month or so. For others like the blog reclusive Alejandro and Kimberly a month is quite a short time. Hmmmm
My college life consists of Band, Classes, Band, Work(movie), free time(which means time to watch free movies), Band, Class, and a random but very sweet visit to Swarthmore.
Marching Band is almost over, this weekend is the last game but Thursday is the first day of Blazer Band(for B-ball). So I'll be doing that but it'll take up much less time than marching band. Like most of you I'm busy searching for interesting classes to take for next semester. Yup, so um movies that you should check out, given that you aren't burried in some book or homework cuz god knows i'm not. I'm trying to decide between American Lit or another History course.
Shopgirl-cute chick-flick with Claire Danes, Steve Martin, and Jason Schwarzman. It's sad and it's from Steve Martin's book....Shopgirl.
In Her Shoes-another chick flick but instead of the beautiful Claire Danes we have Cameron Diaz aka O MY GOD. Completely different story obviously but another hear-wrenching yet beautiful movie
Good Night and Good Luck-I watched this last nite. Great movie directed by George Clooney who also stars in the movie with Robert Downey Jr. The movie is about broadcast journalist Edward Murrow looking to bring down Senator Joseph McCarthy. A little more thinking involved, hence I'm sure most of you would enjoy it.
Doom-If, on the other hand, you are looking for a movie where no thinking involved whatsoever or you just wanna see Dwayne Johnson(The Rock) kick some alien ass, then this movie is for you.
Jarhead-Not your typical war movie I guess. More of a psychologial transformation than boom boom bang bang die die. Also one of the first movies that I can think of, of Desert Storm. Jamie Foxx and Jake Gylenhall do a GRRREAT job.
Movies I'm looking forward to (and obviously you guys should too right?)
-Harry Potter 4-I honestly hate the movies and don't care to read the books but it's gonna be a big hit and I'll def be working that weekend.
-Brokeback Mountain- I am really looking forward to this movie. Stars Jake Gylenhall and Heath Ledger. Basically everybody is calling this the gay cowboy movie. Just go to Itunes movie trailers and watch it... you too Yiwen!!!!
North Country-already out but I need to see it. Stars Charlize Theron and she's a coal miner in the PA and fights sexism and what not which was very taboo at the time.
Hope college is treatin you guys well, Love Teddy
