I would like to begin by appologizing for my extended silence, a result of various conflicting emotions surrounding debate nationals, graduation (this Friday), a really crazy French project, and a friend of mine who doesn't want to graduate. Simply put, I haven't really come to grips with what I'm going through right now. Last week, however, I saw a few of you last week (Paul and Michael to be exact) in addition to another friend of mine who will be attending Harvard, and now I feel an unwillingness to live in High School, even if it is only for a week.
I really dislike hit-and-runners. Last night (this morning at one, actually, on the way home from Batman), this guy hit my friend's car and just took off. He basically only hit the side mirror and the damage was minimal, but he ran the stop sign where we were stopped at probably 60 mph. The whole thing reminded me of this time earlier this year (I hope I haven't told this story before) when my debate coach was in a hit-and-run. He was going 80 on a freeway and some idiot rear-ended him with enough impact to total the car. Luckily for everyone in the car (including two students being driven to a tournament) he was able to keep control after the hit, but the other car just drove away. The really hilarious thing is that when they got out of the car to ascertain the damage, they found the lisence plate number imprinted on the bumber, deep enough to read it.
A friend of mine going to Harvard (not the debate one; a guy going to my school and who some of you met at Cornell) was feeling kind of lonely and randomly started inviting my friends to his facebook thingy. Just thought it might be nice to clarify the invitations some of you may get from an otherwise completely random man.
