worlds debate
I just returned to beautiful LA after two weeks in Calgary, Canada. As it is late and I suffered severely from sleep deprivation during my sojourn (Team USA made a point of socializing as much as possible to overcome all the nice predjudices brought upon us by our wonderful president). The tournament was a lot of fun, though we got knocked out in the quarter final (which put us in 8th place) against Australia, who went on to win the tournament for the seventh time in nine years. However, we did pull an upset against New Zealand in the octofinal (we were ninth going in, to their eighth, but they also had beaten us in a preliminary round).
In case anyone has two hours to shoot, here is a link to a vidio of the final round between Australia and England about the UN veto.

I will post more soon, but right now I need sleep in a major way.

The other two members of the male contingent of Team USA were total slobs. Luckily I only roomed with them for a few days before the tournament actually started (we went a few days early to work) and for the rest of the trip I roomed alone. I don't think I have ever been more relieved to move out of anywhere before in my life and I don't excpect to be any time soon. Calgary, from our quite limited contact with it, was quite boring and cold. And the rain is DEFINITELY creepy!
